Sesko’s Agent Denies Loan Rumors to Arsenal

Benjamin Sesko’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, has denied rumors about Sesko moving to Arsenal on loan this January.

Arsenal’s Interest in Sesko

On December 20, it was reported that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wanted Sesko as a top choice for a striker, instead of Viktor Gyokeres. Since then, there have been talks about a possible loan to Arsenal for the 21-year-old Slovenian player.

However, Basanovic told Fabrizio Romano that these rumors are not true.

“I don’t know where this story started, but I have never talked with Arsenal about a loan for Sesko,” Basanovic said. “Sesko is not a loan player, and we never discussed this with Arsenal or any other club. If you ask me if Sesko will move in January, I can only say he is an RB Leipzig player and focused on that.”

Chelsea Also Interested

Chelsea is also watching Sesko. Fabrizio Romano shared that the London club is interested in the striker, who has scored 13 goals this season.

When asked about Chelsea’s interest, Basanovic said to ask Leipzig for more details.

“RB Leipzig are the right people to ask about these questions,” he said.

Transfer Challenges

Romano mentioned that Arsenal would need to make a very high offer to sign Sesko this January. Leipzig wants €60-65 million for him, which makes a quick sale unlikely, especially since there is no release clause until summer.

Romano also noted that while Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in Sesko, both clubs have other options. Chelsea, for example, is looking at Liam Delap too.

Arsenal’s Past Interest

Arsenal’s interest in Sesko is not new. They tried to sign him last summer, but Leipzig kept him on a long-term deal. For now, Sesko is focused on RB Leipzig, and a transfer before summer seems unlikely.

Sesko is a player to watch in the coming months as Arsenal and Chelsea keep an eye on his performances in the Bundesliga.
