The Manchester City manager could say little more than two words when finding out
Erling Haaland had a rough night at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, as he endured constant trolling from the opposition in the club’s 5-1 hammering at Arsenal.
Adding to his woes, the Gunners’ teenage sensation Lewis-Skelly was spotted copying the Norwegian’s famous meditation celebration after scoring his first senior goal for the Gunners late on.
What Pep Guardiola Said
After the match, Guardiola was asked about the gesture in his press conference. Addressing the incident in his post-match interaction with the media, he responded:
“Oh I didn’t see it… I didn’t see them do that… that’s good. That’s good. So, he did Haaland’s celebration? They have done it? Ah, that’s good. That’s good.”
The Man City boss then jokingly asked the club’s media officer: “Did you like my answer?”
Alfie Haaland Hits Out at Arsenal After Man City Clash
Erling Haaland’s father, Alfie Haaland, didn’t take Arsenal’s celebrations lightly and fired back with a bitter response following City’s thrashing at the Emirates.
Arsenal’s official social media account shared an image of the celebrations with the caption “THIS TEAM.”
Alfie Haaland, unimpressed, hit back with a sarcastic response, saying:
“‘This Team’ that wins everything. Ehhhhh, not.”
