- Man City have tumbled down to seventh in the Premier League table
- Cityzens battling to qualify for Europe
- Guardiola admits missing out on Champions League could be catastrophic
Pep Guardiola is worried about Manchester City’s finances for next season if they do not qualify for the Champions League.
CITY’S STRUGGLE IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE
The team is currently in seventh place in the Premier League and needs to compete for a spot in Europe. They have only won one of their last eight games, so Guardiola is now focused on improving the team’s performance instead of winning the league title.
Guardiola said that missing out on the Champions League would be a big financial problem. He noted that there is more at stake than just money, and the team is at risk of not qualifying.
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALIFICATION
He mentioned that people used to think qualifying for the Champions League was easy, but that is not always the case. He pointed out that even strong teams can miss out.
Guardiola stressed that if City does not qualify, it would be because they did not perform well, faced too many issues, and failed to fix them. There are many teams competing for those spots, and if City does not win, they could be left out.
City will have a chance to improve their position when they play against Everton on Boxing Day.
