Manchester United Transfer News: Onana’s Alternative In January?

MANCHESTER UNITED IN SEARCH OF A NEW KEEPER

Manchester United is thinking about getting a new goalkeeper as a backup for Andre Onana.

Since joining from Inter Milan in 2023, Onana has had some problems, including uneven play and mistakes. He has only kept 20 clean sheets in 76 games, which is worrying.

Manchester United’s defense has been weak, especially in their recent match on Boxing Day, where they lost 2-0 to Wolverhampton after allowing a goal from a corner kick for the second time in a week. This has led coach Ruben Amorim to think about changing the goalkeeper.

POTENTIAL GOALKEEPERS FOR UNITED

Who Is On The Radar

Reports say they are looking at Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp, who plays for Belgium’s Under-21 team. Lammens has played 36 times for Antwerp, 20 of those this season. His contract lasts until 2027, and Antwerp might want about £20 million for him.

However, any move will depend on United following Premier League rules about money.

Even though there are doubts about Onana, backup goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has not done well either. Since joining from Fenerbahce in September 2023, he has only played four games, all in cup matches, and let in eight goals. His last game was a 4-3 loss to Tottenham, which hurt his chances of becoming the main goalkeeper.

MANCHESTER UNITED’S STRUGGLES: TOUGH TIMES AHEAD

Manchester United has been struggling lately, losing four out of their last five Premier League games. This raises worries about their position in the league. Right now, they are 14th in the Premier League with only 22 points from 18 matches.
