Manchester City Wants Omar Marmoush And Vito Reis in Transfer Deal

Eintracht Frankfurt’s Star Player Attracts Interest

Manchester City really wants to sign Omar Marmoush, a forward from Eintracht Frankfurt, during this January transfer window. Frankfurt has set a high price of £67m (€80m) for the 25-year-old, who has played very well this season. However, City and Marmoush’s team think a fair price would be between £42m and £50m (€50-€60m).

Since Marmoush does not have a release clause, Frankfurt is likely to turn down offers much lower than their asking price. So far, there have been no official talks between the two clubs.

Marmoush’s Great Season

Strong Performance in the Bundesliga

Omar Marmoush has had an amazing season in the Bundesliga. He has scored 13 goals in the league, just behind Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane. Overall, he has 18 goals, showing he is a reliable scorer.

Marmoush is also second to Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah for goal contributions in Europe’s top leagues this season. He can play in different forward positions, making him very attractive to major clubs.

Manchester City’s Other Transfer Goals

Interest in Young Star Vitor Reis from Palmeiras

Vitor Reis

While looking at Marmoush, Manchester City is also interested in Vitor Reis, an 18-year-old center-back from Palmeiras. Reis is seen as a future star and played 22 games with two goals for Palmeiras last season.

He also led Brazil’s U17 team in the 2023 U17 World Cup, showing his leadership. However, City may find it hard to get him, as Palmeiras wants £33.5m (€40m) and hopes to keep him for the Club World Cup.

Expert Opinion: Is Reis Ready for the Premier League?

A Smart Investment for City

Football expert Tim Vickery has doubts about whether Reis is ready for the Premier League right now. He believes Reis has talent but needs to get physically stronger to compete at that level.

“Reis is a good defender but needs time to develop physically. He could struggle if he played in the Premier League now,”

Vickery said. Palmeiras’ desire to keep him until after the Club World Cup supports this view, suggesting a transfer might be better later.

Key Dates in the January Transfer Window

Deadline for European Clubs Approaching

The 2025 winter transfer window is open, with the Premier League deadline on Monday, February 3, at 11 pm UK time. Other European leagues, including Germany, Spain, and Scotland, will also close on the same day, but at different times. Italian clubs have an earlier deadline on Saturday, February 1, while Turkey and Saudi Arabia have extended deadlines until February 11 and January 30.

Manchester City’s Goals for 2025

Building a Strong Team

Manchester City’s interest in Marmoush and Reis shows their plan to strengthen their team with both experienced players and young talent. Marmoush could help immediately with his scoring, while Reis is a long-term investment for the defense.

As talks go on, the club needs to balance their current needs with future plans to succeed in this busy transfer window.
