Liverpool – Manchester United Still On

Match Confirmed After Snow Delay

The Premier League match between Liverpool and Manchester United will take place as planned at 4:30 PM on Sunday, despite worries about heavy snow in Merseyside.

Snow overnight made travel unsafe for fans and players. Liverpool’s safety team met at 9 AM to discuss the situation, but they waited until noon for another meeting to make a final decision. After that, they decided the match would go ahead.

Liverpool said in a statement:

“Today’s game against Manchester United will happen as scheduled. We held two safety meetings to check the weather and travel conditions. Thanks to everyone who helped make this game possible. If you’re coming to Anfield, please be careful.”

Snow Has Caused Problems Across the UK
Bad weather has led to many issues across the country, including the closing of Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Liverpool John Lennon, and Birmingham airports. Train services to Liverpool Lime Street Station were also delayed, affecting fans going to the match.

Other games, like Chesterfield vs Gillingham and Fleetwood vs AFC Wimbledon, were called off due to unsafe conditions.

The Met Office warned about severe weather, with up to 25 cm of snow in some areas. Fans going to Anfield are told to allow more time and stay safe on their way.
