On Friday evening, Bayern welcomed Werder Bremen to the Allianz Arena for matchday 21 of the Bundesliga season. The Bavarian club has enjoyed a flawless league record since the start of 2025.

A forgettable first 45 as Bayern were expectantly dominant for the whole half but was too slow in their play and just seemed rather passive. The hosts at the majority of the chances but apart from a glancing header from Harry Kane just before halftime, never really produced anything that caused Michael Zetterer any major issues.

For Bremen, they were not entirely pinned back in their own half and did produce some half chances on the counter, but were unable to get a shot on target.

In the second half, Bayern started half strongly, with Kane hitting the crossbar within 30 seconds of the restart. Werder held on, but the inevitable happened. Two second-half penalties from Kane and a tap-in from substitute Leroy Sané sealed a routine 3-0 win for the Bavarians.

Kane looked lively throughout and took his two penalties well. The England captain not only scored two crucial penalties but was a constant threat throughout the match. His ability to link play, create chances, and finish clinically underlined his importance to the team. The England captain now has 28 goals in as many games for Bayern in all competitions this season.

The win puts Bayern, temporarily, nine points clear of Bayer Leverkusen—an important gap, especially with a crucial week ahead. They travel to face Celtic in the Champions League play-off round on Wednesday before a big Bundesliga clash against Leverkusen next Saturday.
