Ousmane Dembélé scored twice as Paris Saint-Germain comfortably beat Brest 3-0 in the first leg of their Champions League knockout play-off tie.
Paris Saint-Germain took a big step toward the Champions League last 16 with a comfortable 3-0 win over Brest in the first leg of their playoff tie, driven by a brilliant performance from Ousmane Dembélé.
There were no surprises at the Roudourou on Tuesday evening. Brest quickly recognized they were outmatched by a PSG side that didn’t even need to exert itself fully. The final score was 3-0 in favor of the Parisians, and it could have been much worse.
The star of the match? Ousmane Dembélé, who was unstoppable once again. The French winger continued his red-hot form in 2025, scoring twice to help PSG take command of the tie. Just ten days ago, he bagged a hat-trick against Brest in Ligue 1, and he proved too much for Eric Roy’s side once more in the Champions League.
Vitinha opened the scoring for the visitors with a penalty, his third successful spot kick from three attempts in all competitions this season. Dembélé then added two more goals, continuing his remarkable run in front of goal. He has now scored 10 goals in his last four matches, and 15 in his last eight. The Frenchman has netted in each of his last 8 matches in all competitions
With this win, PSG have one foot in the Champions League last 16. They are now unbeaten in 17 matches in all competitions, winning 13 of their last 14, including their last four in the UCL.
As for Brest, their Champions League dream is all but over. Roy’s side enjoyed a historic group-stage campaign, but they were no match for PSG. The two teams will meet again on Wednesday, February 19, for the return leg in Paris. Brest haven’t beaten PSG since 1985, and it’s hard to see that changing at the Parc des Princes.
