Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a dramatic late swoop for Aston Villa’s explosive forward Leon Bailey, according to The Athletic.

United considering Bailey

Man United 'considering' shock late move for Premier League star after Marcus Rashford exitUnited have been linked with Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel often in the last few weeks, and the club have been confident of securing a deal, although Arsenal have since entered the race. However, Tel is not the only attacking reinforcement the club are considering, as they are also eyeing a move for Villa’s Leon Bailey.

Manager Ruben Amorim is keen to add some much-needed pace to his attacking options.

Bailey, a left-footed winger, prefers playing on the right but is also capable of operating on the left or through the middle when needed. That versatility could be key for Amorim as he looks to fine-tune his squad. Known for his dazzling dribbling skills, uncanny ability to breeze past defenders, and his blistering pace, Bailey could be the spark United need to exploit spaces during transitions.

The 27-year-old joined Villa from Bayer Leverkusen in 2021 and has scored 21 times and registered 23 assists across 134 first-team appearances for the club, including an impressive 14 goals in the 2023-24 season.

Bailey’s current transfer valuation sits at just over £31 million, according to popular website Transfermarkt.
